Originaire de Brisbane, en Australie, HOLYSTONE est un power trio heavy qui mélange doom mélodique, psychédélisme hypnotique et construction d’un monde apocalyptique en produisant un son à la fois ritualiste et profondément troublant. Avec des voix masculines et féminines entrelacées, des riffs imposants et des rythmes répétitifs typés desert-rock, le trio aux yeux bandés se produit sur scène vêtu d’une tenue cérémonielle sombre, transformant leurs concerts déjà immersifs en quelque chose de viscéral et de transcendant. HOLYSTONE s’est ainsi rapidement imposé comme l’un des groupes les plus marquants d’Australie.

 

Le deuxième album à venir de HOLYSTONE “Accepting Omega” marque une nouvelle page avec un nouveau membre, Madi Morris, qui participe grandement aux Choeurs, et marque une évolution plus sombre et lourde dans le son, échangeant une bonne partie de la chaleur psychédélique de leurs débuts contre quelque chose de bien plus troublant et existentiel. 

 

L’album-concept est centré sur une figure de fin du monde connue sous le nom d’«Omega », chaque morceau reflétant l’expérience d’un personnage différent face à l’approche de l’apocalypse et leur tentation grandissante de participer à la catastrophe à venir - lentement soumis à la promesse apocalyptique d’Omega. Explorant les thèmes de l’anxiété, de la dépression, de l’existentialisme, de la mortalité et de l’effondrement du monde moderne “Accepting Omega” a été enregistré avec le légendaire producteur Jack Endino (Nirvana, Soundgarden, Mudhoney, Tad…) à Seattle en allant jusqu’à utiliser l’ampli de Kurt Cobain présent sur Bleach, puis Dave Catching (QOTSA, Eagles Of Death Metal, Masters of Reality, Mondo Generator…) au mythique studio Rancho de la Luna, renforçant encore davantage la volonté d’HOLYSTONE d’embrasser émotionnellement une certaine lourdeur et des paysages sonores immersifs.

Le trio s’impose rapidement au sein du heavy underground australien, partageant les scènes avec des groupes tels que Brant Bjork Trio, Yawning Man et Witchskull, tout en apparaissant également lors d’événements tels que Nowhere Festival et Psychnight.

Emerging from Brisbane, Australia, HOLYSTONE are a three-piece heavy band blending melodic doom, hypnotic psychedelia and apocalyptic world-building into a sound that feels both ritualistic and deeply unsettling. HOLYSTONE’s upcoming second album "Accepting Omega" marks a new page with newest member Madison Morris sharing vocal duties, and darker and heavier evolution for the band sound, trading much of the psychedelic warmth of their debut for something far more unnerving and existential. 

The concept album centres around a world-ending figure known as ‘Omega’, with each track reflecting a different character’s experience of the approaching apocalypse and their growing temptation to assist in the coming doom - slowly surrendering to Omega’s apocalyptic promise. Exploring themes of anxiety, depression, existentialism, mortality and the collapse of the modern world, Accepting Omega was recorded with legendary producer Jack Endino (Nirvana, Soundgarden, Mudhoney, Tad...) in Seattle (including recording through Kurt Cobain’s Bleach amp) and Dave Catching (OTSA, Eagles of Death Métal, Masters of Reality, Mondo Generator...) at Rancho de la Luna, further cementing HOLYSTONE’s commitment to emotionally crushing heaviness and immersive sonic landscapes.
